Rules and Regulations

Scoring:

  • First Flag Pull 25 points
  • Flag Hang 50 points
  • Players Alive 5 points each
  • Players eliminated 5 points each
  • A Max is therefore 105 points (first pull, hang, eliminating all players without losing any)
  • Winning team will that team with the highest number of total points minus penalties.

 

Finals:

  • Top two teams of each division advance to finals.
  • Top teams shall be decided by number of wins. Ties shall be decided by head-to-head results, and then further by total number of points in prelims.
  • The Top teams of each division shall play for 1st and 2nd. The second place teams from each division shall play for 3rd and 4th.
  • If there is only one division, the top 2 teams of that division will advance and play 1 game for 1st and 2nd.

 

Games

  • Games will be played 3 on 3
  • Game format shall be center flag and flag must be hung at opposing teams’ start station.
  • Games will be started by a call of 10 seconds, followed by a silent count, and finally a whistle to start the game.
  • All players’ markers must be touching the start station at time of whistle, players not touching start station shall be eliminated.
  • Each game shall last 5 minutes or until the flag is hung by one of the teams.
  • At the end of the game all live payers shall make their way towards the middle of the field where they shall be checked for hits. All eliminated players should remove team pods from the field.
  • Teams finishing games will have 2 minutes to pick up their stuff and get off the field.
  • Teams entering the field will get 4 minutes after a game to enter the field (2 minutes while the other teams grab their stuff, and 2 minutes to chrono/lineup).
  • A coin flip shall be held before each game. Winning team will be allowed to choose their starting side. If a team has already played that team once, the sides shall be switched for the second game.

 

Eliminations

  • A player is eliminated if a paintball shot by a live player on either team strikes and breaks on that player or anything he is carrying.
  • If the paintball strikes the player or anything he is wearing or carrying but does not break, such player is not eliminated. If a paintball strikes another object first and breaks upon that object before marking a player such player is not eliminated. Generally, if the paint marking is reasonably solid and at least the size of a quarter, it MAY be considered a valid hit. “Splatter” will not be considered a valid hit.
  • If two opposing players are hit and marked, simultaneously, or if the judges cannot determine which player was hit and marked first, both players will be eliminated.
  • Judges may wipe splatter or non-valid hits off a player while on the field if doing so does not interrupt game play.
  • Players will be eliminated if any part of their body leaves the playing field.
  • Players may be eliminated as the result of a penalty called by a referee for infractions committed by teammates pursuant the provisions contained herein.
  • Players who are eliminated are expected to immediately signal their eliminations by announcing “HIT” or “OUT” at the time of such eliminations. Failure to announce one’s own elimination and knowingly “playing-on” will cause such player(s) to be subject to penalty.
  • Players shot while carrying the flag must drop it immediately.
  • Eliminated Players may say 1 word once shot and shall make their way to the nearest tape line and then back to their start station where they shall remain until the game ends. Eliminated players may not communicate further with live players or referees, this is considered playing on and may result in penalty.
  • 10. Players must have their marker and all accessories on them at all times (except for used pods) anything left behind other then used pods when making a bunker change will result in Elimination of such player.

 

Equipment

  • Players are at all times responsible for their own equipment. Teams are at all times responsible for their players. Set up your equipment ahead of time.
  • Players may carry only one marker per game. Players in violation shall be eliminated.
  • All electronic markers must be set to Semi-Automatic ONLY and CAPPED at 12BPS. MODE and ROF may be checked by refs at any time. Players in violation mid game will be eliminated.
  • The velocity limit for this tournament is 290 FPS. Players may be checked by refs at any time. Players in violation mid game shall be eliminated.
  • All players must wear regulation paintball face protection.
  • Players can only wear 2 layers: a base layer and their jersey.
  • Field Paint Only!

 

Teams

  • There will be a 12 team maximum.
  • If there are 8 to 12 teams, teams will be broken up into 2 divisions at random. If there are 7 or fewer teams there will be 1 division.
  • Each team shall play all other teams in their division at least once.
  • Teams may have a roster of up to 5 players.
  • Minimum player age is 10 years old. There is no maximum age.

Game Stoppages

  • Game stoppages will only occur in the event of an emergency. In the event of an emergency, field referees will radio a stoppage request with explanation to the Head Judge.
  • Only the Head Judge has the authority to stop or end a game.
  • In the event of a stoppage of a game, players are required to stay in their position, take a knee and turn off gun and hopper. If player possess a barrel cover during this time, player must also use that. Players will then await further instruction from officials.
  • Once the emergency is handled, the game shall be resumed.

 

Forfeits

  • A forfeit will be declared for each game that a team fails to report in a timely fashion or for any game in which a team refuses to take the field.
  • In the event of a forfeit, the opposing team will receive 105 points. The forfeiting team will receive zero points for that game. Teams will not be able to replay a forfeited game once it has been declared such by the Head Judge.

 

Penalties

  • 1. Unsportsmanlike Conduct   –  Players  will  be  eliminated  from  the  game  if  they  engage  in unsportsmanlike like conduct and may be subject to further penalties. Unsportsmanlike conduct may include, but is not limited to:
  1. Deliberately shooting at Referees.
  2. Excessively shooting an eliminated player with the intent to cause injury
  3. Requesting     of     paint     checks     to     distract     Referees     from     checking themselves/teammates
  4. Verbally abusing any players, spectators or Referees. v. Throwing equipment.
  • 2. One-for-One Penalties  (the  removal  of  the  player committing the infraction and a teammate) may take place for the following infractions:
  1. Playing-On: A player that continues to play after an unobvious hit is playing on .A unobvious hit is a hit that the player cannot feel, like a hopper hit, graze of the mask, or pack hit.
  2. Affiliated Spectator Interference: Spectator that is known to be affiliated with a team or player who provides strategic advice. (Spectator is removed and player is eliminated).
  3. Extreme Velocity Violation: Any player caught consistently shooting 320 FPS or above. Plyer may also be subject to forfeit from tournament and possible ejection from field at Head Judge’s discretion.
  4. Freight Training – Is the act of utilizing multiple players who move and act in such a manner that the lead players, after being marked and eliminated to impede or prevent the timely
  5. Elimination of other players in the train.
  6. Wiping: Player deliberately removes paint in order to avoid elimination. This may be a 2 for 1 penalty at ref discretion.
  7. Physical Aggression: A player attempts physical contact with another person on the field in a hostile manner. Offending Player may also be removed from tournament and ejected from field possibly with the escort of local law enforcement by discretion of Head Judge due to the nature of the incident.

 

 

2016 Series Title Scoring

 

Teams will score points by finishing in the top 5 teams at each event. $20 from each team entry across all 5 events shall be held in an envelope. The team who does the best, based on position points, throughout the year, shall win the envelope full of cash. Points shall be earned as follows:

 

1st Place – 25 Points per event

2nd Place – 15 Points per event

3rd Place – 9 Points per event

4th Place – 6 Points per event

5th Place – 3 Points per event

 

In case of tie break, we will look at the head to head games between the two teams (who has won the most games between the two teams), and if necessary by total points scored between the two teams in all their head to head games.

 

A team does not need to play all 5 events to win. However, playing more events obviously gives more opportunity for points.
